2011 F/W Makeup Trend

RED LIPS : A forever symbol for make up
Frankly, red lipstick is something you must have all year long, but this season's red lipstick is somewhat cool and free. The bold and stinging red lip is clearly affected between the 1920s and the 1960s from women in the past. However, instead of appearing heavy and classic, it seems more sleek, artificial, and even surreal.

EYE MAX : Excessive eyelashes and minimal eye-line
The focus point for this season's eye make-up is the eyelashes. You don't need to apply long artificial eyelashes and put excessive masacara as Twiggy had done in the 1960s, but you do need to purchase a mascara that has good performance. Also, the eye-line techniques of many artists seem to have changed over the past seasons and now minimalism appears to be the trend. Eye-line that is long, thin, and carelessly applied reminds us of a water and ink painting.

VINTAGE PEARL : Glamourous pearl that seems handmade
'The pearls seem to big or small', 'It shines from whichever angle you look at it due to its high reflection'. These descriptions are of no use anymore. Especially when you see this strange and mysterious light. This seasons' pearl make up is glamourous and shy as well as elegant.

SOFT EDGE : Elegant beige, taupe, brown
There have been hundreds of products that have these three colors, but they are always elegant. They are colors from nature like sand, trees, and deserts. However, they are more than city-like and glamourous. The reason it seems more elegant this season is because of the sophisticated touch that brings about an artistic mood which is different from the original natural nude make up.
